Mary Berry knows more than most about the importance of vaccines, having suffered polio as a child – and now she is urging everyone to accept the Covid jab.
The 85-year-old and husband Paul Hunnings have had their injections. She said: “I’d encourage everyone, if it’s offered to them, to definitely have the vaccine. “I had polio, but now almost the whole world is vaccinated against it. “If you’re in a hospital like I was, with people in callipers, people in pain, people who weren’t going to get better – I think that everyone should take the vaccine, and think of others.” Mary said the polio she suffered aged 13 has fortunately had little impact on her life.
