Britain's lockdown's on track to be eased again in a fortnight, the Health Secretary has said. Matt Hancock would not confirm that the next stage of the lockdown would end on July 4 - but said the UK was "on plan".
Mr Hancock said that the government has a "clear plan for how we get out of the worst parts of lockdown safely". He adds that "further measures" on easing lockdown will be set out on 4 July "if it's safe to do so".
Asked if hairdressers will be able to reopen from 4 July, Matt Hancock says: "I'm not going to rule that out. "We'll set out the details as soon as we can." It came as it was reported that holidays in the UK could be allowed from July 4, according to the Mail on Sunday, in a bid to boost the ailing economy.
