Boris Johnson will unveil the latest coronavirus lockdown measures that can be relaxed on Tuesday – paving the way for pubs, restaurants and hairdressers to reopen on July 4.
The Prime Minister will hold meetings with senior ministers and experts in No10 on Monday before updating the Commons on Tuesday.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that tackling the virus is “clearly on track” – boosting hopes that the more severe restrictions are nearing an end.
Mr Johnson said: “The disease is increasingly under control and I just want people to reflect on that important fact. It’s going down, we are getting it down. “So, of course, as we make that progress it will be possible to open up more and you will be hearing more about what we want to do
