Ryanair staff at Manchester Airport face an uncertain future after the airline announced it was cutting 3,000 pilots and cabin crew.
Some 306 Ryanair cabin crew are based at Manchester. It's not clear at this stage how many of those jobs could be lost. Other measures will see unpaid leave and pay slashed by up to 20 per cent, as well as the closure of 'a number of aircraft bases across Europe' until demand for air travel recovers.
Speaking to the BBC on Friday morning Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary suggested that while some of the smaller regional bases could be 'vulnerable', larger bases such as Manchester would be maintained with a reduced number of aircraft.
