Morrisons is putting up huge plastic screens at its checkouts to help support the nation's social distancing advice. Staff will be sat behind protective screens to keep them and customers safe.

The government has urged people to stay two metres apart in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus. The screens will be one and a half metres wide and nearly a metre high.

The clear screens will feature messages to explain this social distancing measure and direct customers to small waist-height windows for transactions.

Morrisons stores will continue to take cash but customers will be encouraged to make contactless, Apple Pay or Google Pay card payments if possible.
