The UK is being asked to observe a minute’s silence next week to remember all the health, care and other key workers who have died from Covid-19.
And Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has backed the move. Almost 100 health and care workers are believed to have died after contracting coronavirus.
The Department of Health has named 43 NHS workers as victims. But when other care workers are taken into consideration, the number is believed to be more than double the government figure.
And yesterday the Nursing Notes website, which is owned and run by nurses, said a total of 95 health and social care workers are known to have died from the virus.
