"We were absolutely gutted at having to close within a week and I've had to pour more than 6,000 pints of lager and Guinness down the drain."The couple had put blood sweat and tears into the venture.Alan had left his secure job building Aga Rangemaster ovens in Leamington to forge a new career with partner and office worker Karen Ansley, a current licensee.They wanted to live the dream of running their own rock club.On the eve of Valentine's Day the pair celebrated with a bottle of champagne, ready to face three weeks of gruelling work to transform the venue.The Grey Lantern would be Birmingham's newest rock club, a friendly place to see bright new.
