Next reopens to start selling clothes again - but only online

Next bosses have said they are open for business again online, after putting new safety measures in place. The retail giant closed its online operations on March 26 in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

But a statement issued by the firm said warehouse managers have "successfully tested opening and taking a limited number of orders today" and invites customers to shop online again from Tuesday - "having listened very carefully to colleagues".

Bosses say they have spent two weeks "reworking" warehouse operations and have taken "lots of practical measures" to ensure that staff who want to work "feel safe, work safe and are safe".
