A hard-working NHS nurse was allegedly murdered in the street on Sunday after being attacked during lockdown. Mum-of-three Victoria Woodhall, 31, was stabbed to death outside her home in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

As the drama unfolded around 5pm, neighbours heard screams and one appealed for help on social media to find a man who had fled the scene.

She claimed Mrs Woodhall had been killed “in front of people in the street”. A 40-year-old man was later arrested by armed police.

Victoria had taken a couple of days off work to be with her eldest daughter on her 13th birthday on Tuesday. Gareth Cowley, 33, who is the father of Victoria’s eldest child, said he saw the mum a few hours before she died.
