NIAC advice would not have changed reopening decision - Taoiseach

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said that NIAC's latest advice on vaccines would "in no shape or form" have changed the Cabinet decision to pause the reopening of indoor hospitality.

He confirmed the NIAC decision was not incorporated into modelling presented to ministers on Tuesday, but declined to say what was said - citing Cabinet confidentiality.

It was confirmed yesterday that scenarios outlined by the National Public Health Emergency Team regarding the spread of the Delta variant were prepared before National Immunisation Advisory Committee changed its advice allowing younger people receive a greater range of vaccines.
