Six hospitals across London have recorded no new coronavirus deaths in the past 48 hours. The "promising" figures could prompt the government to ease lockdown measures in "micro-hotspots".
University College London, Homerton, Hillington, North Middlesex, Whittington Health and Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals have recorded no coronavirus deaths in the last two days.
Collectively, the hospitals have recorded over 1,000 deaths since the crisis began. As well as a fall in the number of deaths, Public Health England data released last night shows just two people tested positive for the killer bug in London on Tuesday.
