The Minister for Education has said there are "no plans whatsoever to extend the mid-term break". Minister Norma Foley told RTÉ's Today With Claire Byrne that the priority of Government is to maintain and keep the schools open across all levels of the Living with Covid plan.
If we move to Level 5, then "that would be the one Level where we would look at public health advice". Ms Foley said "public health advice, every step of the way is supporting the opening of schools".
Yesterday, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly also said there was not going to be a longer mid-term break for schools. Ms Foley said the "most likely scenario" is that next month's Leaving Cert exams will be held in schools rather than in other locations as "there's a level
