Daisy Edgar-Jones has spoken about her battle with crippling anxiety and struggling with hypochondria. The 22-year-old actress, who has become a household name since the dramatisation of Sally Rooney’s book Normal People began screening at the end of last month, says her battle with her mental health began early in her career when she did not score parts after auditioning.

The British star, who plays Marianne in the phenomenally successful series, has spoken on how she decided to take a gap year before going to university in order to put all her focus into her acting career.

Daisy has explained that during the time she was riddled with anxiety when she failed to score roles. Speaking on the How to Fail podcast, the talented beauty told:
