North and South Korea have 'exchanged fire' after several gunshots hit a guard post in the demilitarised zone between the fierce rivals.
Yonhap news claims multiple shots came from North Korea - before the South returned fire in the central border town of Cheoron.
There are no reports of casualties, with the exchange coming a day after North Korea's Kim Jong-Un's apparent reappearance following a three-week absence and rumours of his death.
The countries are now said to be in dialogue over the incident, which hit South Korea's 3rd Infantry Division of Gangwon Province at 7.41am local time.
