Public health officials and Government ministers will meet today consider a cautious approach to easing restrictions from 5 April.
Extending the 5km limit, more outdoor sports and a phased return for more construction activity are all being examined. The National Public Health Emergency Team meets this morning to consider changes to the current level of restrictions.
Its recommendations will then be discussed by the key Cabinet sub-committee on Covid later this evening. This will feed into a final Cabinet decision tomorrow with differences among ministers as to whether this should be reviewed in four or six weeks.
