Tomorrow will mark exactly one month to the US presidential election. The campaign has had countless twists, turns and surprises and this morning we saw the biggest one so far.
Just before 6am Irish time, US president Donald Trump tweeted that he and the First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Two hours earlier he had tweeted that his close aide, Hope Hicks, had tested positive and that he and Mrs Trump were awaiting their own test results and were quarantining.
Prior to the release of his own test results, Mr Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity that it was difficult for him and those close to him to avoid the virus since so many others, including members of the military, try to interact with them.
