Outdated shared dormitories scrapped in mental health wards as part of £1.5m project

The investment has been made at Rochdale's Birch Hill Hospital and Fairfield Hospital in Bury by mental health and learning disability services provider Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Moorside ward, in the John Elliot unit at Rochdale, provides specialist care to women aged 18 to 64 with conditions such as depression, anxiety, psychotic illness and personality disorders.
