Parents furious as six-year-olds turned away from school for 'being two minutes late'

Two six-year-olds were refused entry at the gates of their school for being two minutes late, their parents claim. The Year One children had all returned to Priory Primary School in Hull last week without any problems under a phased re-opening.

However, on Monday morning, a group of five children from the same class were refused entry - with the school reportedly telling parents they had arrived "two minutes late", and therefore missed their drop-off slot.

All schools which have reopened to children in nursery, Reception, Year One and Year Six have strict new rules in place to ensure the safety of pupils - including staggered start and finish times.
