Pensioner fined for breaking coronavirus lockdown to go hunting for Pokemon

A 77-year-old pensioner in Spain has been fined by police for breaking coronavirus lockdown rules "to go hunting Pokemon". Madrid Police shared the news on their Twitter page when they shared a photo of the paperwork they had filed in relation to the incident.

Written in Spanish, the words underneath a section asking for officers' observations or allegations translates as: "He was found hunting Pokemon." According to the document, the would-be Pokemon champ was caught at 1.30pm on Sunday in the Latina district of Madrid.

It is almost certain he was playing Pokemon Go, a smartphone augmented reality app in which players worldwide can trackdown Pokemon and battle them in specific real world locations.
