Fines of £10,000 could be issued for those who fail to self-isolate after coming into contact with an Omicron Covid case in England - regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.

New restrictions introduced to curb infections mean that people who have come into contact with a positive Omicron case must self-isolate and stay at home for 10 days.

It's part of a set of temporary measures which have been put in place to try and slow the spread of the new variant.
