People without coronavirus masks in public forced to do push-ups in Bali

Law enforcement officers in Bali have reportedly found an innovative way to remind people to wear their coronavirus masks outside.

Local media reports multiple instances of citizens being asked to drop to the ground and do push-ups as punishment. Despite there being no apparent official policy from authorities, Coconuts Bali reports that "pecalang" (Balinese security forces) have been videoed forcing those without masks to take part in the humiliating exercise on the streets.

Several photos of the unusual punishment have also surfaced from the island of Intaran in Bali's southeast. Intaran village chief I Gusti Agung Alit Kencana told local media that anyone not wearing masks would not be allowed entry to the village.
