Manchester City Centre after committing a series of distractions thefts. Mustafa Haji, 30, targeted men who had been enjoying nights out, in the early hours of the morning, and stole their mobile phones.Manchester Crown Court heard how he would plan each of his attacks, distracting strangers by placing his leg in between theirs and trying to trip them up.
During one theft, Haji followed a 54-year-old man along Portland Street, after Manchester Pride on August 21, 2019 at around 2am.
The court heard the victim hadn't been drinking, and was walking towards the Northern Quarter to pick up his car when he was approached by Haji.Prosecutor, Richard Lees said: "As he walked past the Slug and Lettuce on Portland Street he felt a pull on his arm.
