Signs that the Canadian housing market might be cooling are coming too late for many prospective homebuyers, as their ability to save for a home is dampened by inflation and rising interest rates limit their ability to catch up the high home prices marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.

UVALDE, Texas - Frustrated onlookers urged police officers to charge into the Texas elementary school where a gunman's rampage killed 19 children and two teachers, witnesses said Wednesday, as investigators worked to track the massacre that lasted upwards of 40 minutes and ended when the 18-year-old shooter was killed by a Border Patrol team."Go in there! Go in there!" nearby women shouted at the officers soon after the attack began, said Juan Carranza, 24, who saw the scene from outside his house, across the street from Robb Elementary School in the close-knit town of Uvalde. Carranza said the officers did not go in.Javier Cazares, whose fourth grade daughter, Jacklyn Cazares, was killed in the attack, said he raced to the school when he heard about the shooting, arriving while police were still gathered outside the building.Upset that police were not moving in, he raised the idea of charging into the school with several other bystanders."Let’s just rush in because the cops aren’t doing anything like they are supposed to," he said.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating a crash that left a nine-year-old dead and a mother and another child injured. According to authorities, the crash happened in the area of Germantown and Erie Avenues just before 11:30 p.m. Chief Inspector Scott Small says officers with the 25th District and paramedics responded to the scene and found a 2017 Honda Sedan that crashed into the back of a parked unattended minibus. The Honda, with three females inside, sustained heavy damage to the front of the vehicle, Small says. Police are investigating a crash in North Philadelphia at Germantown and Erie Avenues.  Authorities say the driver, a 33-year-old woman, was transported to Temple Hospital with injuries to the face and a possible broken leg. The driver's two daughters, a seven-year-old and nine-year-old, were also in the car, according to police. Police say the two girls were transported to Saint Christopher's. The seven-year-old child is in stable condition with bumps and bruises, but the nine-year-old was pronounced dead at 11:50 p.m., Small says. Police are investigating the cause of the crash, but believe the Honda was traveling eastbound on the 1300 block of Erie Avenue. Authorities said accident investigators are processing the scene and parts of the Honda were found 100 feet west that are believed to have ended up there before the car crashed. Small says there is no evidence the driver was impaired at this time, but they believe the Honda may have been traveling at a high rate of speed. AdvertisementThis is a developing story.

With a slight uptick in COVID cases in Maharashtra and especially in Mumbai, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that ‘coronavirus has not gone away completely as yet.’ Hence, it is extremely essential to stay alert. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say three people, including a child and her mother, were injured Wednesday night during a drive-by shooting in Philadelphia's Ogontz section.Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 5700 block of Lambert Street around 10 p.m. for reports of a shooting.Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that a 17-year-old boy was sitting on the front porch of a property when a shooter opened fire, striking him three times. Investigators believe a 4-year-old girl who was inside the home with her mother was injured by broken glass.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say four people, including two teens, were shot while walking to a prom send-off party Wednesday night in Philadelphia. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the 3500 block of Fairmount Avenue around 7 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating the death of a teenager after he was found dead inside a home in South Philadelphia Wednesday night. At around 7:57 p.m., police say the homeowners at 2300 Bailey Terrace found a boy laying on the floor inside their home. Authorities say the boy had been shot one time in the chest.The victim was transported by responding medics to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m. Officials say no arrest was made, and no weapon was recovered. AdvertisementPolice are actively investigating this incident, and they are asking anyone with information to contact them.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say three people were killed in two different shooting that happened minutes apart Wednesday afternoon in Philadelphia. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 3000 block of Ella street just before 2 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Police say a 44-year-old man was shot at least seven times and a 40-year-old man suffered a lethal gunshot wound to the head. The younger victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the second victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died, police said. Minutes later, in Philadelphia's Nicetown-Tioga section were called to the 1600 block of West Erie Avenue where police say a 20-year-old man was shot to death. The victim, whose name has not been reported, was pronounced dead at the scene. AdvertisementNo arrests have been reported in either deadly shooting.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Bucks County officials announce an arrest of a 56-year-old man in connection with in an April 1991 cold case homicide.Robert Atkins, a 56-year-old man from Falls Township, in Bucks County, voluntarily turned himself in to Bucks County officials, after a "tireless" investigation by Bucks County Detectives and a recommendation by a grand jury.Atkins is charged with one count of first degree murder, one count of second degree murder, two counts of robbery and seven counts of arson in a case dating to 1991.Officials stated the grand jury concluded that Atkins murdered 35-year-old Joy Hibbs on April 19, 1991, at her home in Croydon. She had been stabbed repeatedly and was likely asphyxiated. Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub explained, during a press conference, Hibbs’ autopsy indicated there was no smoke in her lungs, indicating she had been murdered before the fire of her home being set.Joy Hibbs with her children.

PHILADELPHIA - Police say a 27-year-old, off-duty police officer is dead after a motorcycle crash in South Philadelphia Tuesday night. At around 6:45 p.m., police say they responded to the 3300 block of South Broad Street for reports of an auto accident.Upon arrival, police and medics say they found a 27-year-old man laying on the highway next to a crashed motorcycle. The 27-year-old was traveling southbound down Broad Street when a vehicle, operated by a 22-year-old woman, was pulling out of the parking lot in an eastbound direction. Authorities say the woman was making a right hand turn to go south when she came into contact with the motorcycle driver. MORE HEADLINESThe contact caused the motorcycle driver to lose control and police say he struck the curb at the median, causing his body to then strike a light pole. Police and medics found the victim's body next to the light pole where they say he had significant trauma to his neck.

PHILADELPHIA - Delaware Valley leaders shared reactions to the tragic Texas elementary school shooting where police say at least 14 students and a teacher were killed.The gunman entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde with a handgun and possibly a rifle, Abbott said. Officials have not revealed a motive for the shooting, but Abbott identified him as Salvador Ramos and said he was a resident of the community that’s about 85 miles (135 kilometers) west of San Antonio.Abbott said the shooter was likely killed by responding officers but that the events were still being investigated.

DORAL, Fla. - There are "Florida drivers"… and then there's this guy. A semi-truck driver got a little impatient while struggling to clear safety barriers on a turn in Doral Friday, May 20. Video shared by Jorge L Alvarez shows the pillars caught beneath the semi's container, blocking the back wheels. The video also shows the pillars scraping along the bottom of the container, continuing to cause damage to the semi. He told Storyful it all happened as he and a coworker got to the office Friday morning. The semi driver eventually drove forward, causing the back four wheels to completely come off the back of the container.The semi-truck can be seen continuing to move forward with the container scraping the concrete along the way.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - A Fulton County judge has denied Atlanta rapper Gunna bond for a RICO charge at an arraignment hearing Monday morning.The rapper, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, was booked into a jail in Atlanta on May 11 as part of a sweeping gang indictment that also named 27 other people, including fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug.
