Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the intersection of North 17th and West Pike streets around 3 p.m.

for reports of a shooting. Capitan John Walker told reporters that two brothers, ages 16 and 15, showed up to Temple University Hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg and side.

Both teens are students at Simon-Gratz High School, which is just down the block from where the shooting happened, Walker said.

Police: Nine-year-old girl killed in crash that injured mother, sister in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating a crash that left a nine-year-old dead and a mother and another child injured. According to authorities, the crash happened in the area of Germantown and Erie Avenues just before 11:30 p.m. Chief Inspector Scott Small says officers with the 25th District and paramedics responded to the scene and found a 2017 Honda Sedan that crashed into the back of a parked unattended minibus. The Honda, with three females inside, sustained heavy damage to the front of the vehicle, Small says. Police are investigating a crash in North Philadelphia at Germantown and Erie Avenues. Authorities say the driver, a 33-year-old woman, was transported to Temple Hospital with injuries to the face and a possible broken leg. The driver's two daughters, a seven-year-old and nine-year-old, were also in the car, according to police. Police say the two girls were transported to Saint Christopher's. The seven-year-old child is in stable condition with bumps and bruises, but the nine-year-old was pronounced dead at 11:50 p.m., Small says. Police are investigating the cause of the crash, but believe the Honda was traveling eastbound on the 1300 block of Erie Avenue. Authorities said accident investigators are processing the scene and parts of the Honda were found 100 feet west that are believed to have ended up there before the car crashed. Off-duty police officer, 27, killed in South Philadelphia motorcycle accident Tuesday night

PHILADELPHIA - Police say a 27-year-old, off-duty police officer is dead after a motorcycle crash in South Philadelphia Tuesday night. At around 6:45 p.m., police say they responded to the 3300 block of South Broad Street for reports of an auto accident.Upon arrival, police and medics say they found a 27-year-old man laying on the highway next to a crashed motorcycle. The 27-year-old was traveling southbound down Broad Street when a vehicle, operated by a 22-year-old woman, was pulling out of the parking lot in an eastbound direction. Authorities say the woman was making a right hand turn to go south when she came into contact with the motorcycle driver. MORE HEADLINESThe contact caused the motorcycle driver to lose control and police say he struck the curb at the median, causing his body to then strike a light pole. Police and medics found the victim's body next to the light pole where they say he had significant trauma to his neck.

Cherry Hill police investigate drive-by shooting into a residence

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Cherry Hill police say they are investigating a drive-by shooing that happened early Tuesday morning. At around 12:28 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Woodland Avenue in Cherry Hill for reports of multiple shots fired, according to police. Upon arrival, responding officers located the targeted residence, which they say had been struck numerous times by the gunfire. Authorities say the family was unharmed in the shooting and after patrol units riddled the area, no suspects were located.
