PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are looking to question a 19-year-old man about his role in a rash of shootings and robberies that plagued two Philadelphia neighborhoods over several days.Brian Amerman is a person of interest in three shootings and two robberies that occurred from May 12-21, according to police.One shooting left a man critically shot in the chest and legnear an ATM on Roosevelt Boulevard in Oxford Circle.The other shootings, one involving a 17-year-old victim, occurred a week apart on Amber Street in Kensington.

MADRID (AP) - Seven people accused of racially abusing Real Madrid player Vinícius Júnior have been arrested in Spain, police said Tuesday.Three were detained in Valencia for alleged abuse against Vinícius in a Spanish league match on Sunday. Four were arrested in Madrid for allegedly hanging an effigy of the player off a highway bridge in January.The arrests come after an outpouring of support for Vinícius after he said he was abused in Valencia.

WASHINGTON - Authorities say a man is under arrest and faces charges after he crashed a U-Haul truck into security barriers on the north side of Lafayette Square near the White House Monday.The collision happened just before 10:00 p.m. near 16th Street.

BOSTON - Rick Hoyt, who with his father pushing his wheelchair became a fixture at the Boston Marathon and other races for decades, has died. He was 61.Hoyt died of complications with his respiratory system, his family announced on Monday."Rick along with our father, Dick, were icons in the road race and triathlon worlds for over 40 years and inspired millions of people with disabilities to believe in themselves, set goals and accomplish extraordinary things," the Hoyt family said in a statement.Rick Hoyt had cerebral palsy, which left him a quadriplegic, but he and his father became as much a part of the Boston Marathon as sore feet or Heartbreak Hill.

CANADA - A photographer, based in Canada, managed to capture a mesmerizing green glow of an aurora borealis Sunday after smoke from recent wildfires dissipated. The footage, captured by RJ Roldan, shows the aurora borealis over South Indian Lake in the early hours of May 21. COLLINGWOOD, N.J. - A New Jersey high school opened a wellness center to help students navigate mental and emotional struggles felt by teens in their formative years. Backed by a federal grant, the wellness center at Collingswood High School is staffed by licensed counselors ready to assist "overwhelmed" and "stressed out" students. "Almost every student who walks in the space has been overwhelmed by something, stressed out by something," Wellness Center Director Kristin O'Lexy told FOX 29. The center is a cell phone-free space with welcoming pastel-colored walls and soft background music.

PHILADELPHIA - Two men are dead after several shots were fired in Philadelphia's Wynnefield section early Monday morning, sparking a homicide investigation.Police say both victims, ages 26 and 31, were found unresponsive near North Ruby and Hazelhurst streets after reports of more than a dozen gunshots around 3 a.m.One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at a local hospital.MORE HEADLINES:A weapon was recovered at the scene of the shooting, along with at least eight shell casings.Police also said several items described as "odd" were also found, including a spark plug, welding hammer and gloves.No suspect description has been released, but police did say a vehicle could be involved in the deadly shooting.

PHILADELPHIA - A triple shooting erupted overnight in Philadelphia's Olney section, and police say it all stemmed from a robbery that quickly turned violent.Three people were found struck by gunfire on the 400 block of Fisher Avenue just before midnight Saturday.One victim, a 39-year-old man was treated and released at the scene for a graze wound. A 49-year-old man was shot in the stomach and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.A 17-year-old, who police say is one of three suspects, was also found suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - A New Jersey man is being charged in the murder of a missing Camden County woman whose body was found on the side of a highway near Jersey City. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced several charges against 35-year-old Gregory Mallard in the death of missing Lindenwold woman 32-year-old Norelis Mendoza. The murder, according to prosecutors, is being investigated as an act of domestic violence. Mendoza was reported missing Sunday after she was last seen in Jersey City the previous day.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia music teacher is keeping her students on beat, despite losing all of her instruments in devastating fire that gutted the entire school building.The Mother of Consolation Parish School in Chestnut Hill went up in flames on Mar. 12, and took with it Elise Malizia's 30-year collection of instruments, CDs and music books. "I lost everything in my classroom – everything," Maliia told FOX 29's Joyce Evans. Despite the loss, she continued to help her students get ready for their spring concert at a chapel on the campus of Chestnut Hill College. "It's such a beautiful thing to be in music education and see the growth and development still happening after a fire, and happening so beautifully," Malizia said. Two months after the fire, there is still no timetable for when the school will be rebuilt.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities in Philadelphia are trying to identify a masked man who they believe was involved in a shooting at a parking lot ATM. The Philadelphia Police Department on Friday shared pictures of the masked suspect, dressed entirely in black with gray sneakers. Authorities believe the unidentified suspect is white or Hispanic and may have a tattoo on his left hand, according to the surveillance pictures. Police were called to the Roosevelt Plaza Shopping Center on 6500 Roosevelt Boulevard Wednesday night for reports of a shooting. Officer from the Philadelphia Police Department found a 53-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wounds to the chest and leg lying next to his car. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. Investigators say Wednesday night's shooting was the third violent incident that happened at the ATM.MORE LOCAL HEADLINESHours before the shooting, police responded to the shopping center parking lot after a man who was using the ATM was carjacked at gunpoint by someone who got out of a suspected stolen car.Police say last Friday a 20-year-old man who was using the ATM to deposit a check to use for rent was assaulted, robbed and carjacked by two men in ski masks. Investigators suspect all three incidents may have been carried out by the same person or group, but they have not been able to confirm that theory.
