A 47-year-old woman was also shot, once in the face and once in the neck.

PHILADELPHIA - All north and southbound lanes are completely closed after a fire broke out on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia Sunday morning.Video from the scene shows smoke and flames billowing from under the interstate as emergency crews arrive on the scene with traffic at a complete standstill in both directions.The fire is currently burning near Cottman Avenue and State Road in Northeast Philadelphia.Early reports state that a tanker trunk under the interstate caused the fire, and that part of the interstate has collapsed, but details have yet to be confirmed.It is also unknown if there are any injuries at this time.This is a developing story.

HARTRANFT - A community nonprofit in North Philadelphia is picking up the pieces after somebody looted a storage closet where they were keeping their items on the eve of their summer kickoff party.The thieves went through an abandoned indoor pool and recreation center in the Hartranft neighborhood and broke down a wall to get to the items."All the equipment we use to do community events and run a basketball league has been stolen and wiped out," said Catherine Barnes with the Hartranft Playground Alliance.It was supposed to be a joyous day of giving back for the Hartranft Playground Alliance.When organizers came by Saturday morning to set up their Safe Summer Kickoff event, they found the looted unit."They took our cotton candy machine, our popcorn machine. We had a snow cone machine," Barnes said.

PHILADELPHIA - A young man was leaving his home when two suspects being sought by police opened fire on his car in new video of the deadly May shooting.Both suspects are seen emerging from a nearby car as the victim pulls out of a driveway on the 100 block of South 28th Street on the morning of May 5.The victim speeds up in what appears to be an attempted escape, before the suspects fire several shots into the car, killing the 24-year-old.MORE HEADLINES:Police say the suspects fled in a stolen red 2017 Hyundai Sonata with New Jersey license plates and dark tinted windows, which has since been recovered.A $20,000 reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of both suspects, who police describe as "armed and dangerous."

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man will spend between 26 and 52 years behind bars for a murder inside the Philadelphia Mills Mall in 2021.A jury convicted 23-year-old Gregory Smith of shooting and killing 21-year-old Dominic Billa and the attempted murder of another man on March 29,, 2021.At the time of the murder, prosecutors say Smith was on bail awaiting trial on several cases in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery counties, including drug, weapons and theft charges.RELATED COVERAGE:During the trial, it was said Smith was at the mall on March 29th. In those incidents, businesses with skill machines were targeted during overnight hours.Once inside, burglars tried to open cash registers, break into skill machines, or open safes.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man is fighting for his life after police say he was caught in a barrage of gunfire as he was coming home from work. The shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. Friday on the 1800 block of North Marston Street in North Philadelphia. Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found a 24-year-old man inside a home and laying on the floor with gunshot wounds to his chest, arms, legs, torso, and back. Responding officers rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. MORE HEADLINES: Philadelphia police say over 35 shots were fired from at least two different guns. The victim’s home was struck at least 15 times by gunfire, according to police.

LOWER MERION, Pa. - A Pennsylvania high school teacher is facing charges after investigators say he posed as a teenage girl on a social media app to solicit naked pictures from young girls. Jeremy Schobel, 32, was arrested Wednesday when federal authorities acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children searched his home in Philadelphia. A criminal complaint alleges that Schobel, an English teacher at Harriton High School in Lower Merion, posed as a 17-year-old girl on a social media app called Yubo. Schobel, according to a court documents, was allegedly using the app to find a girl-to-girl relationship and redirecting conversations to Snapchat where he would ask for explicit images. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESYubo closed two accounts that investigators said were linked to Schobel and contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a user "grooming minors" online. Authorities say after being arrest Schobel admitted to creating both fake profiles and posing as an underage girl to solicit explicit images of teenage girls. He also admitted to communicating with girls between 16-years-old and 18-years-old for years prior to his recent arrest, according to a criminal complaint. In a letter to families, the Lower Merion School District said they are not aware of any inappropriate interactions between Schobel and students.

PHILADELPHIA - Vehicle thefts in Philadelphia have nearly doubled from this point last year and criminals are targeting two specific car brands, according to the latest data from police. The Philadelphia Police Department said there have been more than 9,000 vehicle thefts so far this year and half of those have involved Kias and Hyundais. "Obviously this is a major concern for us, the stolen cars out there lead to a lot of things, some are just joyriding others are used in crimes," Chief Walter Smith said.To prevent the growing trend, 21 districts from around Philadelphia came together Wednesday to hand out vehicle locks to Kia and Hyundai owners. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPolice also reached out to victims of vehicle thefts to let them know about the giveaway.
