Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has demanded answers from England boss Gareth Southgate over reports he tested positive for coronavirus last month.

The Sun claimed Southgate kept his diagnosis secret from his England players and battled the virus while self-isolating at home.

However, Morgan was angered by the news, revealing he had been in close contact with Southgate just days before his alleged test result on October 25.

The Good Morning Britain presenter wrote on Twitter : "Hmmmm... England manager Gareth Southgate reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 on Oct 25. "I was chatting with him on Oct 22 at GQ Heroes event, with the magazine's editors. "He didn't tell any of us he tested positive 3 days later.
