Police chopper called in as hundreds of coppers break up packed lockdown house party

Hundreds of police, many in riot gear, descended on an east London street in the early hours of Sunday to break up a huge unlicensed music event that went ahead despite coronavirus lockdown.

Photographs from the scene in Detmold Road, Upper Clapton, show dozens of police vans parked up and down the road as officers crack down on those at the event.

The Metropolitan Police had also apologise to resident for the noise of police helicopters over the area.
