Police say two men were injured in a shooting Saturday night in North Philadelphia. NORTH PHILADELPHIA - A man is fighting for his life following a double shooting Saturday night in North Philadelphia, according to police.

Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 3400 block of North Water Street just before 9 p.m. for reports of gunfire.

Officers drove a 47-year-old man to Temple University Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and legs.A 51-year-old shooting victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries to the hand, police said.

That’s where police and witnesses say a young boy was riding his bike when the driver of the truck hit him.Witnesses say the driver got out and took off running.They say a crowd went after him and beat him up before police got to the scene and took him into custody."I came home from work and I seen a bunch of cops and little kids riding bikes and I’m like, ‘What happened?" Helmer explained.A friend of the victim said they were riding bikes with a group of bikers when the victim was hit.

(Photo by David Madison/Getty Images) PHILADELPHIA - A high school football player from Philadelphia has tragically died after officials say he collapsed during team activities on Tuesday. West Catholic Preparatory High School released a statement Wednesday announcing that Ivan Hicks Jr., 16, passed away after he was taken away in an ambulance Tuesday afternoon. The Chester County Coroner's office says Hicks collapsed while taking a water break around 5:45 p.m. and coaching staff and medics attempted to resuscitate him.
