Italian police are carrying out a major investigation after a staggering 190 people lost their lives in a coronavirus “massacre” at a care home.
Milan cops seized documents at the Pio Albergo Tribulzio, home to 1,000 residents, on Wednesday to see whether staff negligence led to their deaths.
The harrowing number of deaths has led to a national outcry in Italy, since it became public. La Republica, a major Italian newspaper, shared shocking images of nine bodies from the care home on its front page as well as photos of a chapel filled with coffins.
It has led the Italian media to brand it the deaths at the care home as a “massacre” The manager of Tribulzio is now under investigation, amid claims there were no safety precautions put in place
