Italian police are investigating Milan's largest care home where 190 people have died during the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday officers seized documents connected to Pio Albergo Trivulzio, which is home to 1,000 residents, to find out whether staff negligence contributed to the deaths.
The scenes at the care home have been met by national outcry in Italy. Last week newspaper La Republica published photos of nine bodies from the care home on its front page, as well as images of a chapel filled with coffins.
Italian media has dubbed the scenes at Trivulzio a 'massacre'. Do you have a coronavirus story? Email [email protected] The manager of the care home is under investigation amid allegations that no safety precautions were adopted.
