Fears that some workers from a chicken factory in Coupar Angus were not maintaining social distancing led to a visit from Police Scotland and PKC health and safety inspectors.
Coupar Angus Community Council contacted authorities about the 2 Sisters Food Group (2SFG) site after receiving comments from local residents.People in the town were worried to see workers at the processing plant standing close to each other by the gates at the start and end of shifts and during smoking breaks. There were also reports of ‘gatherings’ at the Scotmid store in the town. There was also anxiety when locals saw cars arriving with many people, assumed to be unrelated, sharing lifts to work at the factory.Wendy McColmes, vice chair of Coupar Angus Community
