LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. - A Pennsylvania boy who briefly went missing on Friday and prompted state police to issue an alert has been found. Authorities first reported the 4-year-old boy missing from Lower Macungie Township in Lehigh County around 7 p.m. The child's last known location, police said, was somewhere in the township on Friday afternoon. Hours after Pennsylvania State Police issued a Missing Endangered Person alert, authorities said the child was found safe. No information was provided about what caused the child's brief disappearance.

LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police on Friday issued a Missing Endangered Person alert for a young Lehigh County boy. Authorities say 4-year-old Mason Courtney was last seen around 1 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Service employees within the School District of Philadelphia will vote Saturday on whether they will go on strike as union leaders say their safety demands have not been met by district officials. Workers represented by the Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ are slated to hold the vote on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1:30 p.m.The workers involved include bus drivers, mechanics, attendants, building cleaners, engineers, and trades workers. MORE HEADLINES: Union officials say an estimated 2,000 school district employees are represented under the expiring contract. The current contract for those employees expires on Aug.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating a shooting that left a man in critical condition. According to authorities, officers responded to the 6500 block of Torresdale Avenue for a report of a shooting around 10:45 p.m.

WASHINGTON - Authorities say a juvenile and two adults have been detained by officers after shots were fired early Friday morning in downtown D.C. near the National Mall and the White House.The shots were reported around 1:15 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and another injured in Germantown early Friday morning. According to police, officers responded to a 911 call for a shooting on West Aspley Street just before 1:30 a.m. Responding officers found a 25-year-old man sitting inside an unattended parked Nissan Sedan, authorities say. Medics realized he had been shot and pronounced him dead at 1:47 a.m., according to officials. Investigators say they believe he was shot outside the car but was able to run to get into the car. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAccording to police, the man did not have shoes on, but one was found inside the car and the other was found outside of the vehicle. A few minutes after officers responded, a shooting victim showed up at Temple University Hospital. The 21-year-old victim was placed in stable condition, according to authorities. Police say he was uncooperative, but investigators found clothing they believe belongs to him at the scene. Seven spent shell casings were found at the scene of the shooting, authorities say. The shooting remains under investigation.

UAMS spokeswoman Leslie Taylor said they were instead stolen from Arkansas Central Mortuary Services in Little Rock by a female mortuary employee and sold, adding that there is an open federal investigation."We are very respectful of those who donate their bodies, and we are appalled that such a thing could happen," Taylor said.A representative of the mortuary hung up on a reporter who reached out for comment Thursday.FBI Little Rock spokesman Conor Hagan said the office was aware of the Pennsylvania incident "but will not comment on ongoing investigations." PHILADELPHIA - For the second time this month, activists gathered in front of Sharon Hill’s Borough Hall to demand the release of more information on the police killing of an 8-year-old last August.Authorities say in late August, Fanta Bility and her family were leaving the Academy Park High School football field among a crowd of fans when a shooting between two young men erupted. Bullets from that shooting came in the direction of three Sharon Hill Police officers who were monitoring the crowd. The officers returned fire, shooting toward a car they believed was involved in the initial gunfire, striking the car and members of the crowd.

GERMANTOWN - A family is in mourning after a woman was hit and killed by a SEPTA bus in Germantown."They said that a 71-year-old woman got hit by a SEPTA bus at Greene and Walnut Lane. We were like, ‘Wait a minute, our Aunt Eloise is 71 and usually catches the bus right there!’" exclaimed nephew Gregory Shuler.Shuler is at a complete loss after finding out, through a news report, his 71-year-old aunt, Eloise Little, was the elderly woman hit and killed by a SEPTA bus late Wednesday evening. Marlon spurell (left), Tahmir Pinckney (center) and Azyear Sutton-Walker (right) have been charged in the quintuple shooting in West Philadelphia.  PHILADELPHIA - Police have identified three of the six suspects arrested and charged in connection with a West Philadelphia shooting that injured five people on Tuesday night. Authorities say the neighborhood was left shaken after nearly 100 shots were fired in a shootout on North 57th Street around 7 p.m. Five people between the ages of 17 and 25 were shot, including a teenager and a 21-year-old who were both shot in the head, police say. RELATED COVERAGEAfter the shooting, police chased a vehicle, which eventually crashed on Farzan Street nearby and three suspects were arrested. Police say one of the suspects ran into a property on the 500 block of Haverford Avenue, where he was arrested and another hid under a trailer near 50th Street and Haverford Avenue. According to authorities, multiple rifles and handguns were recovered in the SUV. Authorities identified the suspects as Tahmir Pinckney, 24, Marlon Spurell, 22, and Azyear Sutton-Walker, 22. The three face a slew of charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy and related charges. Authorities are still looking for three additional suspects in connection with the shootout, officials announced in a press conference on Wednesday. This is a developing story.

Police are searching for a car involved in a crash with a motorcyclist in New Castle County.  PHILADELPHIA - Police in New Castle County are searching for a driver accused of hitting a motorcyclist and leaving the scene. According to authorities, New Castle county police responded to Carpenter Station Road and Valley Run Drive on Saturday for a report of a vehicle collision. When officers arrived on scene, they found an injured 78-year-old motorcyclist at the intersection, police say. Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling south on Carpenter Station Road when a cream-colored Honda CRV traveling northbound on Carpenter Station Road turned left in front of the motorcycle. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe motorcycle then collided with the passenger side door of the Honda and the motorcyclist was ejected, according to police. According to officials, the motorcyclist was flown to a local hospital and placed in critical condition.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating a shooting that left a man in the hospital on Thursday morning. According to authorities, the shooting occurred on the 4200 block of Stiles Street at 9:32 a.m. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESOfficials say a 41-year-old man was shot five times throughout his body and transported to Presbyterian Hospital, where he is in critical condition. No arrests were made in the case and the investigation is ongoing, police say. 

PHILADELPHIA - Homicide Detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting in Powelton. According to authorities, officers received calls about a shooting on the 4000 block of Lancaster Avenue on Wednesday night. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 19-year-old with a gunshot wound to the neck, police say. Officials say the man was pronounced dead at 10: 26 p.m.MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAccording to police, at least seven spent shell casings were found on scene. Chief Inspector Scott Small says police do not yet have a motive and they will be checking surveillance cameras in the area. 

PHILADELPHIA - Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department's shooting Investigation Group are looking into a quadruple shooting that left teenagers injured in North Philadelphia on Wednesday night. According to police, the shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. when officers responded to calls for a shooting on the 2800 block of Bonsall Street. Chief Inspector Scott Small says officers arrived on scene and found four gunshot victims who were between the ages of 15 and 18. According to Small, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the back and the leg, while a 16-year-old girl and 18-year-old female were also shot in the leg. Four teenagers were shot at a birthday party in North Philadelphia on Wednesday night, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a man was cleaning his gun outside a home in Philadelphia when it unintentionally fired and struck him and his brother. Officers say the 38-year-old was on the back porch of a home on the 3700 block of Jasper Street when the apparent accidental shooting happened just after 5:30 p.m.

TRENTON, N.J. - A man is fighting for his life after police say he was hit by two vehicles while walking in Trenton Tuesday night, one of which fled the scene.John Giordano, 66, was crossing Route 129 with a baby carriage filled with ice when he was reportedly struck by an SUV that sent him into the left lane, and kept driving.The victim was then run over by a second vehicle, and became trapped underneath. Police say the car attempted to stop, and remained on the scene.MORE HEADLINES:Giordano was transported to a local hospital where he is said to be in extremely critical condition.Police say the fleeing vehicle is unknown at this time.

PHILADELPHIA - A block captain who confronted catalytic converter thieves was shot by the group in East Germantown on Wednesday morning, according to police. Authorities say three suspects were in the process of stealing a catalytic converter from a van on West Pomona Street when they were confronted by the van's owner and the block captain. The block captain then followed the three suspects as they fled to Germantown Avenue, where he was then shot by one of the suspects in the chest, police say. According to police, the man was transported to Einstein Medical Center for treatment. Chief Inspector Scott Small says the man is in critical condition but expected to survive. RELATED HEADLINESA neighbor told officers that her catalytic converter was also stolen from West Pomona Street over the weekend, according to Small. Investigators say they will work to determine if this incident is related to a pattern of catalytic converter thefts in the area. Small says the incident was captured on multiple private cameras. According to authorities, the group was last seen in a grey or silver sedan that went south on Germantown Avenue.  This is a developing story.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - A Montgomery County community is mourning the loss of a veteran police officer, cancer survivor, husband and father who was killed in a bicycle accident over the weekend. Corporal Brian Kozera, a 16-year member of the Norristown Police Department, was training in Lancaster County on Saturday for the Ironman World Championship when he was struck by a pickup.Chief Derrick Woods said the driver stayed on scene and the investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing. He called the Kozera's death a "tragedy" and "a hole that we are never going to fill." Kozera leaves behind a wife and three young daughters, one of whom has special needs. Kozera leaves behind a wife and three young daughters, one of whom has special needs.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say five people were hurt when nearly 100 shot were fired near a playground in West Philadelphia on Tuesday night. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the 400 block of North 57th Street around 7 p.m. after hearing gunshots. Police found five people between the ages of 17 and 25 suffering from gunshot wounds, including a 16-year-old and a 21-year-old who were shot in the head. Two others, ages 17 and 25, suffered graze wounds and a 22-year-old was shot in the hand. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESInvestigators believe the shooting happened when two shooters in a white SUV fired multiple rounds and fled the scene. Captain John Walker told reporters that responding officers saw four men pile into a vehicle that fled the scene and later crashed on nearby Farson Street. The men jumped out of the car and tried to run from police, but three were taken into custody.

Aaron Wharton , 53, was arrested for allegedly assaulting law enforcement officers in Delaware.  MILLSBORO, Del. - A Delaware man has been arrested for assaulting several police officers, according to State Police. Aaron Wharton, 53, of Millsboro, Delaware, is accused of the assault on officers, police say. Authorities say the incident occurred on Monday evening around 6:34 p.m.

DELAWARE COUNY - A female corrections officer from Philadelphia has surrendered for several felony charges amid recent sexual abuse claims.Alyssa Nicole Pierce, 32, is accused of engaging in "indecent contact/sexual intercourse" with a 27-year-old male inmate at least three time.Pierce was reportedly employed at State Correctional Institution Chester in Delaware County at the time.MORE HEADLINES:Pennsylvania State Police say the officer also illegally called and texted the inmate over a three-month period.She reportedly surrendered to authorities after an arrest warrant was issued for five felony charges, and is awaiting a preliminary hearing in the Delaware County Prison.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia firefighters are battling a two-alarm fire that is tearing through a building in Chestnut Hill. Fire officials say crews responded to Germantown Avenue and Gravers Lane for reports of a fire at a building with retail stores on the lower level and apartments on upper level. According to the Philadelphia Second Alarmers, the team provided additional support to the crews who spent hours fighting the blaze since it broke out early Tuesday morning. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAuthorities have not reported any injuries or provided information on the level of damage. Streets in the area remain closed as crews continue to work on putting out the fire. 

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department has launched an investigation after a woman was struck by a car and left in the street in Lawncrest. According to police, the incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Monday night. The woman, 31, was struck by a vehicle while crossing the 5700 block of Rising Sun Avenue, authorities say. Chief Inspector Scott Small says when police and medics arrived on scene, they found her face down and bleeding with face trauma and a broken arm. Medics rushed her to the hospital and she is expected to survive, according to officials. Witnesses told investigators that the car was moving so fast that they could not tell the model or color of the vehicle, Small says. According to police, the woman was walking to her car to get dog training pads from her parked car when she was struck. The dog training pads could be seen spread out in the street after the woman was struck and one of her sneakers remained in the road, police say. Police say the woman was crossing the street to get dog training pads when she was struck by a speeding vehicle.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is in the hospital in critical condition after being shot in West Philadelphia early Tuesday morning, authorities say. According to police, the shooting happened just after 1 a.m.

Apple requires its employees to work from office on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a regular third day that will be determined by individual teams. This is a shift from Apple's original schedule, which called for in-person work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities are searching for a man accused of an early morning sexual assault in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Police Department on Monday shared surveillance footage of the suspect who they estimate to be between 30-40-years-old and no taller than 5-foot-8. Authorities say the suspect, seen on video pushing a maroon mountain bike, is wanted for an Aug.

Ashley Richards, 32, was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Aug. 10, 2022.

NEWARK, Del. - Two Maryland filmmakers known for helping expand commercial advertising and the film and television industry in the Baltimore-Washington area have died in a car accident in Delaware, according to authorities and an associate.Martin Whittier, 37, and Nate Brubaker, 27, died Thursday night after a box truck collided with their car, which Delaware State Police said had become disabled in a lane on a stretch of Interstate 95 near Newark, The Baltimore Sun reported. The truck struck the car from behind — pushing it toward the shoulder — and then caught fire, pinning the men inside their vehicle, according to police.

MILL CREEK - Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting in Mill Creek that left a 25-year-old man in critical condition.Police in the 16th District were called to the 5000 block of Aspen Street Sunday night, just before 8 p.m., for a reported shooting.The officers found the 25-year-old man with gunshots to his face, jaw and chest.They rushed him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.Authorities say an investigation into the shooting is underway, though no weapons haven been recovered and no arrests have been made.

LOWER MERION TWP., Pa. - Police in Radnor Township are helping Lower Merion Township Police with a wanted person stuck in a storm drain.Officials say there is no threat to the community. The incident was at Locust Grove Terrace, beneath Conestoga Road in Bryn Mawr late Sunday afternoon, about 5 p.m.The wanted person reportedly became stuck inside a storm drain.
