Poundland says pregnancy tests sales have surged as couples get frisky during lockdown

It’s been said by many during the coronavirus pandemic. Couples in lockdown will either break up or make babies together. And it looks like many have been doing the latter.

Poundland has reported a surge in demand for its pregnancy tests. Sale of the family planning products have soared by 25% in recent weeks.

Tim Bettley, trading director at Poundland, said: “Based on our sales, Britain should be preparing for a baby boom as couples found more entertaining ways to relax than watching box sets or doing jigsaws.” Customers in Sutton Coldfield, Slough and West Bromwich have snapped up the most pregnancy tests recently.
