Poundland is reopening a further 26 of its stores this week. The outlets, which were closed during the coronavirus pandemic, are being opened with social distancing guidelines in mind.
They join the retailer’s 51 stores that returned last week. Managing director Barry Williams hopes reopening will help to support shoppers who need to pick up essentials on a budget.
He said: "As an essential retailer, we've continued to support customers in hundreds of towns - especially those who manage their budgets week-to-week and find it difficult to bulk buy. "And our store colleagues have done much more than their day job.
They've also played a vital role, delivering care packages to other frontline workers and those in need in their communities.”
