Pregnant women are being urged to get their Covid vaccine after figures show almost all expectant mums admitted to hospital with symptoms had not had the jab.
The Government is now campaigning for pregnant women not to wait to get either their first, second or booster jabs, in a bid to increase uptake.
The advertising campaign will highlight the risks of Covid-19 to mothers and babies, and will include testimonies of pregnant women who have had the vaccine to be broadcast on radio and social media.According to the Government, medical experts and other institutions, Covid-19 vaccines are safe for pregnant women and have no impact on fertility.
The Department of Health and Social Care cited statistics from the UK Obstetric Surveillance System which it said showed 96.3% of pregnant women admitted to hospital with Covid-19 symptoms between May and October last year were unvaccinated, reports HullLive.
