Premier League players will return to training in small groups from Tuesday after the first phase of 'Project Restart' was given the go-ahead.

All 20 clubs unanimously agreed to the return after being given detailed updates on protocols and guidelines that will be put in place, with Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce calling the plans "as safe as it can be" as he prepares to welcome back his Magpies squad.

Players and club staff at all clubs will be undergoing or have already had coronavirus tests ahead of the return, with all results known by the time the players report for training in small groups of up to five on Tuesday.
