Steve Bruce insists the planned June 12 restart of England's Premier League is too early as UK football finishes a 10th weekend off.
The Newcastle manager believes players will not be ready until the end of next month after the league was suspended on March 13 as the coronavirus pandemic took hold in the UK.
Several high profile players and managers have voiced concerns over the plans including Toon defender Danny Rose, on loan from Spurs.
Bruce believes player fitness must be taken into consideration and believes they will "fall down like a pack of cards" if the restart is implemented too early.
