'Productive' meeting for arts and culture sector hit by Covid-19

A meeting involving the Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn and representatives of the National Campaign for the Arts has been described as "productive and constructive".

The sector was one of the hardest hit due to the Covid-19 shutdown and continues to be impacted by the ongoing restrictions on gatherings and events.

Arts minister Catherine Martin, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly and director of the Arts Council Maureen Kennelly also attended today's meeting.

Dr Glynn said that arts and culture have played a significant role in helping people during the pandemic and in telling the story of the journey the country is on.
