QPR issue statement as CEO 'absolutely appalled' by Championship restart

QPR Chief Executive Officer Lee Hoos says the club have been left absolutely appalled by Sunday’s announcement from the EFL regarding a provisional return date for the Championship.

The Championship season is set to resume on 20 June, more than three months after it was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The EFL said the date was "provisional" and "subject to the strict proviso that all safety requirements and government guidance is met".

Owing to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown, the R’s last played on March 7 – more than 12 weeks ago. The club currently sit 13th in the table with 50 points from 37 games.
