A Rangers fan has started a petition to have Neil Doncaster removed from his role, attracting more than 5,000 signatures so far.
The SPFL chief executive has come under fire for his handling of the coronavirus crisis, with a resolution to end the lower leagues early in limbo after Dundee didn't cast a vote.
That proposal would also have granted the governing body the power to end the Premiership season in the same manner at a later date, handing the league title to Celtic.
That has proved controversial, with Rangers calling for Doncaster to be suspended and for an independent investigation into the SPFL.
