Ranjit Chowdhry dead: The Office and Prison Break actor dies aged 64

Actor Ranjit Chowdhry has died at the age of 64. The Office star shot to fame in Bollywood films but enjoyed a return to the spotlight in recent years as Vikram in The Office.

Ranjit also appeared in several other hit TV shows. The TV star died in a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday after suffering a ruptured ulcer in his intestine, according to TMZ.

Theatre star Dolly Thakore said that Ranjit had travelled to India for dental treatment before the coronavirus lockdown came into place and was unable to return to his New York home.

Ranjit is survived by his wife and son. According to local news reports in India, Ranjit's funeral was held on April 16 and a gathering to celebrate his life is scheduled for May 5.
