Re-imposition of Covid-19 restrictions cannot be ruled out - NPHET

The National Public Health Emergency team has told the Government that should the latest changes not have a sufficient effect on the profile of Covid-19, the re-imposition of public health restrictive measures may be warranted.

In its 12 pages of advice, NPHET said that the return to the workplace should continue to be phased and cautious. It has also called for sector specific guidance and protocols for hospitality, cultural and sporting events to be reviewed and strengthened where necessary. "NPHET continues to recommend that all who can work from home should continue to do so," it advised.

It added that homeworking has played a very important role in containing the spread of Covid-19 throughout the duration of the pandemic.
