Manchester United have been boosted by reports that Real Madrid will not be taking their interest in Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland any further.
The Norwegian teenager has been one of the stories of the season, netting 40 goals for RB Salzburg and Dortmund so far. He was the subject of one of the most talked about transfer battles of the January transfer window after being linked with several top clubs in Europe.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to lure him to Old Trafford but in the end he opted to move to the Westfalenstadion for a cut-price £18million.
The Premier League outfit are still thought to be monitoring Haaland but Real Madrid were expected to step up their efforts to land him in the summer.
