Rescue centre could barely identify animal before drastic transformation

Animal lovers have been left stunned by the transformation of a neglected ball of fluff who had so much matted fur it was hard to even identify what it was.

Arizona Humane Society (AHS), which works to save vulnerable animals, posted to Facebook to say one of its workers Julie had responded to a call regarding an animal in distress.

But when Julie arrived she 'could barely tell what type of animal she was there to help' as she was faced with a mountain of grey and white matted fur.

Hidden under it all was a cat, who was transferred to AHS' Second Chance Trauma Hospital, where she had almost 1kg of fur removed from her 3.6kg body.
