RSPCA worker, 26, dies suddenly days after birthday as dad issues coronavirus warning

An animal carer did not have the usual coronavirus symptoms but after looking "off colour" just days after her birthday, she went into cardiac arrest and died, her family said.

Jayne Lowry, from Preston, Lancashire, did not have a cough but was rushed to hospital after her heart stopped beating on Saturday, before passing away the next day.

She had "braved" the coronavirus outbreak to attend Crufts a couple of weeks before, according to a social media post. Mum Jackie Lowery has called her 26-year-old daughter "amazing and beautiful".

She praised the paramedics who "fought very hard to save her", adding the family would be "forever grateful". "Why this devastating thing happened we will only have to wait and see, continued Mrs Lowry, 56.
