SC disposes petition over Karanataka-Kerala border dispute

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday disposed off petitions related to dispute over the blockade at the Karnataka-Kerala border to prevent inter-state movement of people.

The Karnataka government had blocked the state highway, preventing movement of vehicles carrying essential goods and people seeking emergency treatment at hospitals in Mangaluru, bordering Kasargode, one of the worst covid-19 affected districts of Kerala.

Today, solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted before the top court that the Union home minister conducted a meeting with the chief secretaries of Kerala and Karnataka, as advised by the court, which resulted in an amicable resolution.
