It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 8,154.There are currently 670 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 58 being treated in intensive care.The total number of positive cases since the pandemic started stands at449,780.To date 4,117,147 people have received their first vaccination with 3,717,587 having a second jab.
The figures come as Professor Jason Leitch has said teenagers could still be vaccinated in the future as the chief medical officers of the four UK nations will now be asked for their views.
