Scottish Government has reported that 5 people have died from coronavirus and that 2,999 new cases had been identified overnight.
It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 7,706.
There are currently 177 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 17 being treated in intensive care. The total number of positive cases since the pandemic hit stands at 263,710To date 3,695,303 people have received their first vaccination with 2,631,533 having a second jab.The news comes as a travel ban row between First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham deepens.
