An online children’s swimming event was brought to an abrupt stop yesterday after hackers broadcast porn to over 300 viewers.
Scottish Swimming, the national governing body for swimming and other water activity, had hosted the event via virtual meeting app Zoom.
It was promoted as a “one-off chance to train next to some of the world’s best”, encouraging families to help keep fit during coronavirus lockdown along with athletes from the national squad.
However, the video had to be shut down when the live broadcast was “zoom-bombed” and “disturbing content” was shared with everyone, including young children.
